2022 Content Update - Entirely new feel! New Trailer! The future!
New major update + trailer for 2022!
It's no secret that Drop Dimensions has been the project of just one time-starved developer and in need of lots more love - this year it finally received that in the form of a new GUI that better uses the space and an entirely new soundtrack from Dark Fantasy Studio. The music finally sets the atmosphere I always intended and better sets the pace for level runs. It's truely like playing a new game! As for the GUI.. still not perfect, but MUCH better and LONG OVERDUE.
I have thrown together a (completely bodged and amatuer) trailer for this update so people can get a better idea of what the game is and how it plays before trying the demo out and I'm hoping it will drive a little interest at least. This game has not received much attention to date (which is expected!) but it would be nice if a few sets of eyes get to see it - please DO share this game if you think anyone will like it!
The Future
Where we go from here depends entirely on if people play and enjoy the game or not. I'm quite proud of this little game but have many others sat on the sides deserving dev time and it does not seem like a good use of time to keep working on this if no one is playing it...
...However...
There are many cool ideas drafted and epics/features in our dev ops pipeline that I would love to work on IF the game gathered interest. From the obvious new stages and characters, more lore, more collectibles.. to actual game play features such as the Rift Worlds - worlds accessed via portals in standard stages that have modifiers applied, extra vicious traps and epic rewards - the rift store which would be a randomly spawned rift world where you could buy extra special upgrades and modifiers for your character and special challenge worlds that scroll in different directions and involve more platforming.
All of this obviously requires a large investment of time and development - if this is something you'd like to see please shout and be heard. Most importantly, please share the game!
